I won't flog my blatant Itza favoritism because it don't align with facts. Idk what happens(something with Markus?).Īs for Lizardmen starts, in Vortex, Kroq-Gar is the best beginner start overall. Though he usually falls off, Itza takes over. This happens quite commonly in my games too.
In my Noctilus campaign (VH, pure 'horde' playstyle), Mazdamundi was #1 pretty much the entire game through. It was Naggarond in my Tyrion game, but then he got smashed by Taurox and Mazdamundi pushed ahead to be the new #2. In both of those games, Mazdamundi ended up being one of the dominant factions in the world as far as Strength rating was concerned. I've only played two Vortex campaigns to completion recently (after the latest DLC released), as Tyrion and Count Noctilus (so in both games I never bothered touching Lustria). Mortal empires is more balanced though still really, really hard. Though the most hilarious thing is seeing Mazdamundi die at turn 1 on the vortex campaign. Simply because of Skeggi and their powerful garrisons (for turn 1) and potencially them recruiting an full stack of marauder horsemasters at like turn 8.
